Journeyman Electrical – Two Sections (160 Hours/$1076) 16.0 CEU’s

Electrical Course Content is completely ONLINE and student must be self-motivated for success. Prerequisites Apply.

Preparation for certification and licensure examinations for workers in the electrical industry.  Electrical Courses taught by a master electrician.  David Witherspoon, our founding instructor, will instruct using an Online Subscription Learning Management System.  Recommend students budget $200 to $250 for learning materials and subscription costs paid to the provider for each section.   

 

 


Section One: (80 hours/$538) 8.0 CEUs

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Maintenance Electrical Program and employed working for an electrical contractor (or instructor approval). Advanced coverage of the NEC for those employed in fields requiring knowledge of the Code. Emphasis on wiring protection and methods, special conditions and advanced calculations. General principles and fundamentals of electrical controls and components including starters, troubleshooting techniques, various protective devices, schematics and diagrams. IEIR 1010 Motor Controls 

Spring 2020 Cohort: Enrollment open from Nov. 1, 2019 through April 15, 2020. All course content must be complete by June 30, 2020 to pass course. Content is online. Upon enrollment, student may begin course immediately.

Section Two: (80 hours/$538) 8.0 CEUs

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Journeyman Section One and employed working for an electrical contractor (or instructor approval). Mathematical applications utilized to solve problems in the electrical field. Topics include fractions, decimals, percentages, simple equations, ratio and proportion, unit conversions, and applied geometry. Preparation for journeyman electrician licensure with emphasis on calculations and the NEC. Students are responsible for learning materials and supplies.
